One of the biggest hot buttons for a lot of people in just about every market imaginable is the word “new”. In MLM, “new” always gets people’s attention. Some people worry that they’ll miss out, because what is “new” today will not be new next month. That puts the pressure on to act now, or you may well be too late to make your fortune. In MLM, another way of saying the same thing is “prelaunch”. One of the best home business tips I can give you is to stay away from pre launches. You might be saying “Are you kidding”? Read on.

Anybody who advertises these words with an idea that sounds at all plausible and which has some nice bells and whistles is likely to attract some good attention. Are you interested? OK. But here is the problem: most businesses fail. Especially when you have a new business, the chance of them surviving 2 years is certainly under 20%, and maybe much lower. And in any event, new businesses have problems. You could commit 100% to a new business, but others won’t. As soon as they get a jug with the label upside down, they’ll figure these guys don’t know what they’re doing, and they’ll quit.

All businesses need some time to get their system working right. Nothing goes just like you planned it. If you get in before they’ve got problems ironed out, your people will get discouraged, and it will be hard to keep them. What is the solution? Wait. If you’ve found a really good opportunity, it will be an even better opportunity in 2 years, because it will have established more credibility and trust with stakeholders. Plus, the problems will have been found and fixed. In other words, the bugs will have been sorted out. So you are better off to give it some time to play out, rather than jumping on that “new” bandwagon.

A lot of people start in network marketing with the idea that they want to get in position to make a lot of money. They’ve heard of people earning 7 figures a month. And it’s true. It has happened. But it’s important to understand the numbers. Not long ago, a report was compiled of the financial statements of 7 well-known, publicly-traded MLM companies. The report revealed that compensation plan payout to reps ranged from a low of 25% of gross income to a high of about 42% of gross income. Think about this. You’ll always have just a portion of profits that go to the distributor base. Let’s call it 40%. If you have a heavy hitter at that company making million a month, what does that mean? If that company pays out 40% of the gross income the fact is, the LESS that heavy hitter is paid, the MORE that the part-timers get paid. That adds up to about 95% of network marketers, and they are the ones who have the dream. A lot of prospects think it’s wonderful when they see that one person get a huge paycheck. However, it may mean you actually have LESS chance to earn a good check.

You have a great idea for an internet marketing niche.

You have done some research into it and are confident it will work.

Very often, if you do not act on your new business idea, and stay focussed, it is all too easy to become sidetracked. There are too many experts on the internet selling the latest ‘must have’ product which will solve all of your problems. It is all too easy to become tempted to buy the latest bright shiny object. And with the vast amount of information now available on the internet, again it is very easy to become distracted.

The biggest mistake you can now make is to lose concentration, to skip from one idea to another, because if you do that and start trying out different products or adding too much information, you end up with a serious career breaker, ‘information overload’.

It is great to have a business idea, but if it never gets to the implementation stage, it will remain just that, an idea.

Do not let your business plan grow with too many ideas too soon, that is another way to get things over complicated. Don’t make the mistake of trying to market your idea to everyone, you need a small niche, small enough to avoid too much competition, big enough to be profitable.

You must be disciplined, you must concentrate on your niche, and have a strategy and complete that strategy one step at a time. If you can do that , it will be difficult t become sidetracked. Once you have decided to put your plan into action, break down your plan into small sections and allocate a time for completion. Your targets need only be simple stages, but see each one through to completion, you are then on the road to a new business. Congratulate yourself each time you complete a stage.

Taking action on your plan will make them more realistic and each time you complete another small section, you should feel proud of yourself and it will make you more enthusiastic to continue on to the next stage.

Forget the get rich quick programs, concentrate on your niche and try to make your niche stand out from the crowd, try to be different. Therefore, if you have a business idea that you feel can be profitable, be prepared to persist with it. Your potentially profitable idea will be worth the hard work and motivation to see it through to completion. Your business will take time to grow, there is no such thing as overnight success, you have to put in the time and effort.

You will have the right basis for success, if you can avoid distractions when building your business, and concentrate on achieving one small step at a time. This business needs lots of discipline, you need to take a long term look at where you want to go. You need persistance, when problems arrive you need the determination to carry on and succeed, giving up is not an option.

Always concentrate on your customer benefits and continue to produce quality content .It is the content and service you provide which will attract customers, a nice looking website will not get results on it’s own. Build a relationship with your customers, if you can do that, you will be able to make recommendations to them rather than make a sales pitch. People would rather receive recommendations than be sold to.

Overcomplicating your business idea is easy to do, so don’t be put off track if you are confident that your niche idea has the potential to be profitable. You need to complete each small step in your plan, do not allow any distractions. Persistance and discipline are the only qualities needed to achieve success, and if you possess these qualities, you will see your business progress over time to become the business you have always dreamed about.
